Law
Placements, projects and employability
USW makes sure you put theory into practice to gain key legal skills. We work with the legal services sector to provide you with work placements, including at Admiral Law and Hugh James Solicitors. Students are offered extra-curricular opportunities including Streetlaw at the Employment Tribunal, which is a collaborative project with Cardiff and Swansea Universities , offering employment law guidance to litigants in person.
All Law students have an opportunity to engage in clinical legal education and may volunteer as a Student Advisor at our Legal Advice Clinic, a student-led, pro bono clinic offering legal advice to members of the public.
Professional learning environment
The University of South Wales has impressive study facilities for law. These include the Advice Clinic, Moot Court room, hydra suite and legal practice library.
You can take part in a range of activities in our various learning environments from interviewing members of the public in the Advice Clinic to moots and mock trials in our Moot Court, which prepares you for your future as a USW graduate.
USW’s Law degrees are recognised by the Solicitors Regulations Authority and the Bar Standards Board, giving you a competitive edge and preparing you for progression to becoming a solicitor or a barrister.
