Allied health professionals are vital to our health services. There are 15 specialist roles in a range of sectors, from emergency response and diagnosis to mental and physical rehabilitation. They play a crucial part in treating, rehabilitating and improving the lives of patients. Career opportunities are varied, with allied health professionals making up the third largest clinical workforce in the NHS. Whether you want to be hospital-based, work within the community or from patients’ homes, there’s sure to be a role that suits you. At USW, our allied health degrees span chiropractic, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and operating department practice (ODP) providing varied career opportunities across the care sector.

We offer incredible clinical simulation facilities and outpatient clinics that emulate a diverse range hospital, community, and clinical settings providing you the opportunity to undertake hands-on practise in a safe environment before entering the workplace.

Demand for professionals

Our impressive range of facilities have been purpose-built with this in mind. Students learn beyond the classroom in simulated environments before undertaking supervised placements.
