Immersive Learning

You’ll train in simulated learning environments that monitor your leadership and decision making skills. USW is one of the few universities in the world and the only university in Wales to have a Hydra Simulation Centre. Health and Social Care Management students train in this simulated learning environment that monitors their leadership and decision making in real time during critical events. You’ll experience real-life case study scenarios and it’s a great way to learn in a safe environment.  

 

Learn from experts

Our teaching adopts a multi-agency approach that reflects the reality of the workplace. It encompasses social care settings, the NHS, third sector and independent sectors, schools, and charities. Depending on your course, you’ll be taught by a mix of experienced practitioners, ensuring you’ll have a rich and diverse set of expertise to guide you through your studies

 

Work placements and experience

Getting out of the classroom and into the workplace is a key element, with work based learning and voluntary opportunities in a range of settings throughout the course. These experiences allow you to work with a variety of people and in multi-agency environments. Experience like this will help you build professional skills and allow you to explore the many career options open to you in health and social care.
