A STIMULATING ENVIRONMENT
All our design courses offer a stimulating, creative environment with brand-new dedicated studio space. Our design studios are designed to emulate commercial design studios, from creative collaborative spaces to our industry pitching room. You will also have access to Mac rooms, a wide variety of image capture devices and even Raspberry Pi.
The campus also has a range of Adobe Credited digital technicians that support all our design software applications taught both online and on campus.

INDUSTRY CONNECTIONS
All design students at USW work on live competitions, projects and industry visits.
We have unique partnerships with local, national and international industries. Our partnerships provide students with opportunities to take on work experience on cutting-edge TV shows, films and video game productions. Supported by expert teaching, our design students have worked on professional briefs from real clients, including Nike, British Airways and Cardiff Blues.
GRADUATE SUCCESS
Design students from the University have an established record of awards success, collecting prizes at the D&AD New Blood Designer Award, Young Creative Network Awards, and the Caramelite Prize. Many of our former students have worked on blockbuster films and games that have been nominated for BAFTAS and Oscars.

CUTTING EDGE EQUIPMENT
USW Fashion students have a modern and spacious environment to work in that is tailored for them and supports their learning and development throughout the course. Specialist facilities include: cutting edge design software, industrial sewing machines, specialist machines and steam presses, a variety of inclusive dress stands including male, female and children, simulated retail shopfronts, laser cutting and 3D printing facilities, as well as a fully equipped production workshop.
The fashion floor also features a creative space where students can meet to collaborate, work, host meetings, network and relax.
COLLABORATION
USW collaborates with key players in the fashion industry; our collaborations are with both national and international brands including Ellesse, Cotapxi, Palladium, Size? and Givenchy. These projects focus on real issues, opportunities and challenges facing the industry such as sustainability, ethics, the metaverse and digital clothing.
INDUSTRY LINKS
Our industry links provide students with real opportunities to solve problems and learn from professionals. All student engage in industry placements as part of their course to gain experience of the business in real life. Previous placements include Givenchy and Vivienne Westwood, and many of our students choose to take internships overseas.
STYLE AND CULTURE TRIPS
Style and culture trips are an exciting option to enhance your studies, and recent visits have taken our students to see Paris, New York, Japan, London, Copenhagen and Berlin.
We are also affiliated with The British Fashion Council, which means our students have opportunities to visit India as part of a fully funded trip.
