BA (HONS) ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE GRADUATES RECEIVE THE MAXIMUM EXEMPTIONS AVAILABLE TOWARDS THE ACCA QUALIFICATION (9) AND A NUMBER OF EXEMPTIONS FROM THE ICAEW, CIMA AND CIPFA PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.

Modules covered include financial reporting, management accounting, financial management, taxation, audit, computerised accounting systems and business strategy.   

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has fully accredited this Accounting degree, so you gain the maximum exemptions from their professional qualification when you graduate.

CIMA-ACCREDITED SAGE CERTIFICATE 

Students can gain the CIMA-accredited Sage certificate as part of their degree – at no extra cost. Sage is the market leader for integrated accounting, payroll, and payment systems, supporting millions of businesses around the world.   

The CIMA Sage Certificate is studied in the first year of the degree as part of the Data Analysis and Computerised Accounting module. The module introduces themes that are built on in the Year 2 Digital Taxation module.

EMPLOYABILITY-FOCUSSED

Our Accounting and Finance degree is taught by qualified accountants and specialists who are active in the industry. This degree also includes employability-focussed Professional Development modules, offering an exciting mix of expert guest speakers, live projects, transferable skills development, career planning and profile building. Our live projects involve students working in small groups with Business Partners (which in the recent past have included the Development Bank of Wales, Newport City Homes, GE Aviation and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council). These projects allow our students to develop their skills such as business acumen, collaboration, leadership and business reporting. 

Students can also choose from a variety of specialist modules, including Financial Trading and Investment, Cases in Audit and Forensic Accounting.
